Back to School Party
Please join us Tuesday, September 8th for our Back to School Party. It will be held at the from 1:30 to 3:30 at the Markham SAS building on Ft. Belvoir. If you are new to the area, new to homeschooling, or are just interested in posslibly joining the group, come and join us. Be sure to let us know that you are new so that we can introduce you to other families and answer any questions.

Halloween Party
Come join us for our Halloween party that will be held on Friday, Oct. 31 from 1-3 PM at the Markham SAS building on Ft. Belvoir.
If you are new to the area, new to homeschooling, or are just interested in posslibly joining the group, come and join us. Be sure to let us know that you are new so that we can introduce you to other families and answer any questions.
This is a Halloween party and kids will be dressed in costume. Parents, you are welcome to dress up if you wish also. When planning a costume, please keep in mind that there will be kids of all ages and many little ones. Please come dressed "family friendly" - nothing too scary, gory, or otherwise innapporiate. Thank you.

Welcome Back Party
If you cannot attend the Membership Meeting on Aug. 29th (see previous post), you are welcome to join us on Tuesday Sept. 9 from 1-3 at the Markham SAS building on Ft. Belvoir for a Welcome Back Party.
This party is mainly a fun time for the children to meet and play games. However, the parents generally have a great time getting to know each other as well. We will have sign up sheets and New Member Application Forms available at the party.
If you are already a member, please plan on joining us in welcoming everyone to the new FBHE school year.

Membership Meeting Aug. 29
We will be holding our first Membership Meeting for the upcoming new school year on Friday, Aug. 29 from 7-9 PM. It will be held at the George Washington Community Center on Ft. Belvoir (near Walker Gate).
Anyone who is interested in joining our homeschool support group is welcome to attend. We will be introducing the new Board Members as well as talk about plans for some of this year's activities. This will be a great opportunity to meet some fellow homeschoolers and find out more about the group.

The FBHE is a group of military and DOD families dedicated to the home education of our children. We are committed to providing support and encouragement to one another and to participating in activities that will enrich the lives of our children and families.
Throughout the year our group offers social, support, and enrichment activities for our member families. We have participating members with children from pre-school thru high school age and we attempt to plan activities that will appeal to all age ranges.
Social activities include: holiday parties, weekly playgroup, and monthly gatherings such as bowling, hiking, or swimming.
Enrichment activities include: monthly field trips, co-op (four, six week sessions per year), and special events such as a Spelling Bee, Science Fair, International Fair, and Geography Bee.
Support activities include: monthly meetings, and monthly Mom's Coffee. Please feel welcome to join our group to learn about and participate in our activities.
